Rock stars in the making.

After seeing big name performances by US rock groups like Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and the irrepressible Prince at the O2 Arena, watching a new, up and coming band like The Answer at a very intimate gig at music venue Dingwalls in London’s Camden Town, I found myself appreciating live music much more.It was raw, it was enthralling, energetic yet soulful and the elements of rhythm and blues mixed with hard rock was absolutely enlightening. This gig made me realise that smaller venues don’t just have perks but offer an atmosphere you cannot capture at stadiums, festivals and arena gigs.

The Answer are a hard rock and blues rock band from Northern Ireland. They have achieved success with their debut album “Rise” selling in excess of 30,000 copies in the UK & Europe. The group have been touring with veteran musicians AC/DC for the past year, and set up some tour dates in the UK whilst promoting their second album, Everyday Demons.

After listening to their first album, I was drawn to lead singer’s Cormc Neeson’s incredible, distinctive vocal range, hearing it live however was mind-blowing, I instantly fell in love with his on-stange antics, thick Northern Irish accent and charisma. He was born to be a rock star. Altogether the four guys were very humble, openly greeted fans when leaving and entering the stage and waved to fans during the interval.

The only downside to the evening was that only two songs from the first album were played which was disappointing as I hadn’t become familiar with the second album enough to sing along to the lyrics! Apart from that it was a pretty flawless performance. I was excited to see the Answer but didn’t realise how much I’d appreciate their musical abilities, from the drummer to the guitarist and Cormac’s harmonica playing, there were an awesome foursome and I hope they achieve the kind of success that warrants their talents.
